- Specifications
The 7Q7 is a pentagrid converter vacuum tube designed for frequency conversion and local oscillator mixer stages in superheterodyne radio receivers. Electrically equivalent to the 7A8 or 6SA7 octal tube types, it features a 6.3V filament rating with a 300mA current draw and utilizes an 8-pin lock-in (loctal) base in a glass envelope construction. Manufactured by companies including Sylvania, Philco, RCA, and GE, this tube was widely used in mid-century Philco and Zenith radio chassis for receiving and converting incoming RF signals to an intermediate frequency (IF).
