The 6SK7 and 6SK7GT are single-ended 8-pin octal remote-cutoff (variable-mu) pentode vacuum tubes introduced by RCA in the late 1930s. Designed for RF and IF amplifier stages in superheterodyne radio receivers, they allow effective Automatic Volume Control (AVC) without signal distortion. Featuring single-ended construction, they route the control grid to an octal base pin, eliminating top caps and simplifying chassis wiring. The standard 6SK7 uses a metal envelope for shielding, while the 6SK7GT uses a T-9 glass envelope. Both operate on a 6.3V heater and fit standard 8-pin octal sockets. Available NOS and tested used.
