The 6B6GT is an octal-base multi-unit tube combining two diodes and a high-mu triode in a single glass envelope. Introduced in the late 1930s, it functions as an detector, AGC voltage generator, and first audio voltage amplifier in classic radio receivers. It serves as the 6.3V octal equivalent to the older 75 grid-cap tube and offers electrical characteristics similar to the later 6SQ7GT. Operates on a 6.3V heater and fits standard 8-pin octal sockets. Available NOS and tested used.
