The 6AV5 (and its updated glass variant, 6AV5GA) is an octal-base beam power pentode originally engineered for horizontal deflection amplifier service in television receivers. Capable of handling high peak pulse plate voltages and heavy current demands, its sturdy power characteristics also make it a popular choice for audio power amplifiers and regulated DC power supplies. Operates on a 6.3V heater and fits standard 8-pin octal sockets. Available NOS and tested used.
