The 6AU6 is a 7-pin miniature sharp-cutoff pentode designed for high-gain RF and IF amplifier stages in television receivers, FM tuners, and communication equipment. Introduced in the late 1940s, its high transconductance (5.2 mA/V) and low interelectrode capacitance also made it a popular choice for audio preamplifiers, microphone circuits, and test instruments. Operates on a 6.3V heater and fits standard 7-pin miniature sockets. European equivalent is EF94. Available NOS and tested used.
