The 6AN8 is a 9-pin miniature compound tube containing a medium-mu triode and a sharp-cutoff pentode in a single envelope. Designed initially for TV tuner, oscillator, and color matrix circuits, it became widely popular in high-fidelity audio amplifiers (such as Dynaco) where the pentode section serves as a voltage gain stage and the triode operates as a split-load phase inverter. Operates on a 6.3V heater and fits standard 9-pin noval sockets. Available NOS and tested used.
