The 6AK8 is a 9-pin miniature multi-section tube containing three diodes and a high-mu triode in a single glass envelope. Designed primarily for FM and AM radio receivers, the triple-diode structure allows two diodes to function as an FM ratio detector or discriminator, while the third diode handles AM detection and AGC voltage generation. The triode section serves as the first audio voltage amplifier. Operates on a 6.3V heater and fits standard 9-pin noval sockets. European equivalent is EABC80. Available NOS and tested used.
