The 6AK5 is a 7-pin miniature sharp-cutoff pentode engineered for high-frequency RF and IF amplifiers operating up to 400 MHz in VHF television, FM receivers, radar systems, and military communications equipment. Designed during WWII, it features low noise, high transconductance (5.1 mA/V), and low interelectrode capacitance. Operates on a 6.3V heater and fits standard 7-pin miniature sockets. European equivalent is EF95. Available NOS and tested used.
