The 6A7 is a pre-war pentagrid converter engineered for superheterodyne local oscillator and mixer service in 1930s radio receivers. Housed in a shoulder-type (ST-12) glass envelope with a top grid cap for signal connection, it combines the functions of an RF mixer and local oscillator within a single structure. Operating on a 6.3V/0.3A heater, it was widely specified in early multi-tube console and tabletop chassis manufactured by RCA Victor, Zenith, Philco, Crosley, and Admiral. Available in NOS and tested used conditions.
