The 5T8 is a 9-pin miniature multi-section tube containing three independent diodes and a high-mu triode within a single glass envelope. Designed for combined FM detection, AM detection, AVC, and audio preamplifier service in radio receivers and television chassis, it operates on a 4.7V/600mA controlled warm-up series heater. It was regularly specified in late-1950s series-string equipment produced by manufacturers such as RCA Victor, Zenith, Philco, and Admiral. Available in NOS and tested used conditions.
