The Type 37 (originally designated UY-237 or CX-337) is a 5-pin indirectly heated general-purpose triode designed for detector, RF, and AF amplifier service in early 6.3-volt automobile and DC-operated receivers. Introduced by RCA and Cunningham in 1931 alongside the Type 36, it features a 6.3-volt heater optimized for direct operation from lead-acid storage batteries.
