- Description
- Specifications
The Type 34 (originally designated UX-234 or CX-334) is a 4-pin grid-cap directly heated variable-mu screen-grid tetrode designed for RF and IF amplifier service in battery-operated radio receivers. Introduced by RCA and Cunningham in 1931, its super-control (remote cut-off) characteristic reduces cross-modulation and enables automatic volume control (AVC) in 2-volt battery-powered sets without causing signal distortion.
