The 14Y4 is an 8-pin lock-in base (Loktal) half-wave rectifier tube designed for power supply service in transformerless AC/DC radio receivers. It features an indirectly heated cathode operating on a 12.6V / 14.0V heater supply. Sylvania, RCA, GE, and Philco manufactured the 14Y4 to RETMA specifications using T-9 glass envelopes. It is functionally equivalent to the 7Y4, differing only in its higher heater voltage rating designed for series-string power configurations.
