The 14A5 is an 8-pin lock-in base (Loktal) power pentode designed for audio output amplifier service in vintage radio receivers and mobile electronic equipment. It operates with an indirectly heated cathode rated for a 12.6V / 14.0V heater supply. Sylvania, RCA, GE, and Philco manufactured the 14A5 to standard RETMA specifications using T-9 glass envelopes. It provides low-distortion audio output power in transformer-coupled receiver circuits.
