The 45 is a legendary 4-pin UX-base directly heated power triode vacuum tube introduced by RCA and Westinghouse in 1929. Revered by vintage radio collectors and audiophiles for its linear amplification and rich tonal qualities, it was widely used in single-ended and push-pull audio output stages of premium 1930s console radios. Operating on a low 2.5V filament supply, it delivers clean, low-distortion audio output. While early versions featured globular S-15 glass bulbs, standard production standardized on the ST-14 shoulder glass envelope. Available NOS and tested used.
