The 43 is a classic 6-pin UX-base power output pentode vacuum tube introduced in the early 1930s. Designed primarily for the audio output stage of line-powered Transformerless (AC/DC) radio receivers, it delivers high power output at relatively low plate voltages. Featuring an ST-14 shoulder glass envelope and an indirectly heated cathode, it operates on a 25.0V heater rating. The 43 is widely found in vintage "midget" and mantle radios of the 1930s and serves as the 6-pin predecessor to later 8-pin octal output pentodes such as the 25A6 and 25L6. Available NOS and tested used.
