The 6AW8 (and its improved 6AW8A variant) is a 9-pin miniature compound tube housing a high-mu triode and a sharp-cutoff pentode in a single glass envelope. Designed primarily for television receivers, the pentode section functions as a high-gain video amplifier or IF amplifier, while the triode section operates as a sync separator, sync clipper, or phase inverter. Operates on a 6.3V heater and fits standard 9-pin noval sockets. Available NOS and tested used.
