The 59 is a classic 7-pin large-base triple-grid power amplifier vacuum tube designed for Class A, B, or C power output and driver service in early 1930s radio receivers and audio amplifiers. Operating on a 2.5V/2.0A indirectly heated cathode, its flexible external grid connections allow it to be wired as a triode, screen-grid tetrode, or power pentode depending on the stage configuration. It was widely specified in early multi-tube console receivers by Zenith, RCA Victor, Philco, and Crosley. Available in NOS and tested used conditions.
