The Type 36 (originally designated UY-236 or CX-336) is a 5-pin grid-cap indirectly heated screen-grid tetrode designed for RF and IF amplifier stages in 6.3-volt automobile and battery-operated radio receivers. Introduced by RCA and Cunningham in 1931, it features a 6.3-volt heater suited for direct operation from a standard lead-acid storage battery system.
