- Specifications
The 2A6 is a 6-pin grid-cap duplex-diode high-mu triode designed for detection, automatic volume control (AVC), and first-stage audio amplification in early AC-operated broadcast receivers. Introduced by RCA in the early 1930s, it combines two detector diodes and a high-gain triode unit, featuring a 2.5-volt heater for compatibility with standard AC power transformers of the era.
