The Type 26 (originally designated UX-226 or CX-326) is a 4-pin directly heated triode designed for radio-frequency and audio-frequency amplifier service in early line-operated AC radio receivers. Introduced by RCA and Cunningham in 1927, it features a thick oxide-coated filament operating at 1.5 volts, engineered to minimize hum when powered directly by alternating current.
