The 14B8 is an 8-pin lock-in base (Loktal) combination tube featuring a high-frequency RF/IF pentode and two independent detector diodes. Designed for AM radio receivers, it performs detection, automatic volume control (AVC), and signal amplification in a single envelope. It operates with an indirectly heated cathode rated for a 12.6V / 14.0V heater supply. Sylvania, RCA, GE, and Philco produced the 14B8 to standard RETMA specifications using T-9 glass envelopes.
